Meta explored adding facial recognition to its smart glasses, allowing users to identify nearby individuals, according to a report. This opt-in feature raises privacy concerns, as people whose faces would be scanned wouldn’t be offered a choice. While current Ray-Ban Meta glasses use an LED to indicate recording, it’s unclear if facial recognition would have a similar indicator.
