Indian Railway has announced a fare hike in railway tickets, effective from July 1st, marking the first increase in the last five years. The fare adjustment will make long-distance train journeys more expensive, impacting passengers across different classes. Specifically, non-AC mail and express trains will see an increase of 1 paisa per kilometer, while AC class fares will also experience an upward revision. This change is expected to affect commuters’ travel costs significantly.
