Delhi chokes under a toxic blanket of smog, and our desperate bid for relief has crumbled into dust. Yesterday’s ambitious cloud seeding operation, led by IIT Kanpur, failed spectacularly-no rain fell to wash away the poison in our air, although there may have been a small drop in pollution levels. Nothing to write home about, per se. Low moisture levels sabotaged the effort, and today, operations have been halted indefinitely, leaving us gasping in this annual nightmare of pollution peaks.
