Piyush Goyal On India US Trade Deal: No Compromise On Agriculture, Dairy Sectors In US Trade Deal

Union Minister Piyush Goyal has strongly asserted that India will not compromise on its agriculture and dairy sectors in the new trade deal with the United States. Addressing concerns over the pact, the minister said farmers’ interests remain fully protected and sensitive sectors will not be diluted. He added that the agreement will open major opportunities for labour-intensive industries such as textiles, apparel, leather and gems and jewellery, while giving India access to advanced technology and innovation. Goyal described the deal as one that will make every Indian proud without hurting domestic producers.
