Abhishek Poddar, Founder of the Museum of Art & Photography (MAP), praised NDTV’s Masterstroke Art Awards for recognising the often-overlooked pillars of India’s art ecosystem. Speaking at the event, Poddar said initiatives like these encourage more people to support galleries, institutions, and artists by bringing much-needed attention to the serious side of art. He highlighted that the awards go beyond celebrating well-known names and instead place the spotlight on the wider community, including art writers, curators, exhibition organisers and emerging artists who rarely receive public recognition.
