Bangladesh Elections: Safety Of Minorities Under Spotlight

Ahead of Bangladesh’s February 12 national elections, minorities and civil society groups formed a human chain outside the national parliament in Dhaka, demanding adequate security before, during and after voting. Protesters highlighted fears of targeted attacks, stressing that protection must extend beyond religious minorities to include vulnerable communities and women, with slogans calling for “security, not silence.”
