Opposition Submits No-Confidence Motion Against Speaker

The opposition has formally submitted a no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to the Secretary-General, with 118 MPs signing the notice. The INDIA bloc accuses the Speaker of acting in a partisan manner and denying the Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi adequate opportunity to speak in the House. While the motion reflects growing opposition unity, it still falls short of majority support, leaving uncertainty over whether it will be admitted and taken up for discussion in the Lok Sabha.
