Rahul Gandhi In Lok Sabha: “Old Dollar-Based World Order Being Challenged”

Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has struck a strong geopolitical note in Parliament, citing the Economic Survey to warn that the old US-led, dollar-based world order is being challenged. Speaking during the Budget Session, Gandhi said global dominance of the United States is under pressure from China, Russia and other forces, signalling a major shift in international power equations. He also argued that the world is moving from an era of stability to one of instability, pointing to conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza as evidence that the “era of war is over” narrative no longer holds true. Drawing on the survey’s observations about energy and finance weaponisation, Gandhi questioned whether India is prepared for the emerging global turbulence, turning the economic debate into a broader foreign policy discussion.
