Footage captured on Tuesday at Harbin Polarland, in China’s Heilongjiang province, shows the annual pint-sized Penguin Parade once again waddling its way into the hearts of visitors, serving up pure, icy joy as part of the city’s famed winter festival. From a distance, the birds resemble toddlers tumbling about in a playground, some adorably carrying colourful backpacks as if ready for school. Crowds, bundled up in puffy coats, cheered and clicked away with their cameras as the adorable ambassadors marched (or eagerly waddled) along their designated route into a fenced-off playground. Despite the chilly weather, the penguins strutted their stuff with comical grace, delighting and warming the hearts of visitors all around. Visitor Mr Qu remarked, “I first saw this truant penguin on my phone and thought it was super cute. Today, I came specifically to see it in person, and it’s even cuter than it looked on my phone!”
