Tipu Sultan Remark Sparks FIR Against Maharashtra Congress Chief

Maharashtra Congress chief Harshwardhan Vasantrao Sapkal has issued a clarification after a controversy erupted over his remarks allegedly comparing Shivaji Maharaj with Tipu Sultan. Sapkal claimed his statement was distorted and said he is ready for an open discussion on the matter.

A complaint has been filed against him by a BJP leader, intensifying the political row. Sapkal also accused Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of focusing on Hindu-Muslim issues while remaining silent on farmers’ concerns, including loan waivers and agricultural agreements. Meanwhile, Asaduddin Owaisi entered the debate, making sharp remarks about historical figures, further fuelling the controversy.
