AI Summit 2026 | ‘World Was Watching India’: BJP MP Slams Youth Congress Protest

A major controversy erupted after members of the Indian Youth Congress staged a shirtless protest at the AI summit in Delhi, raising slogans against the Centre over a reported trade deal with the United States. Reacting to the incident, BJP MP and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha president Tejasvi Surya told NDTV that while opposition to the government is legitimate in a democracy, “opposition to India” is not acceptable. He termed the protest “irresponsible anarchism” and accused the Congress leadership, including Rahul Gandhi, of orchestrating the disruption. Surya alleged that the Youth Congress acted under the party’s direction and criticised what he described as the Congress party’s failure to acknowledge achievements showcased at the global AI summit.
