Bhupen Borah Explains Why He Joined BJP, Launches Sharp Attack On Congress

After joining the BJP, former Congress leader Bhupen Kumar Borah said he was compelled to leave the Congress because the party’s condition in Assam had become “alarming.” Citing points from his resignation letter, he referred to controversial remarks made by some Congress MLAs and alleged that internal decisions were out of sync with public sentiment. Borah, who spent 32 years in the party, said those genuinely concerned about Assam’s future “could no longer remain” with the Congress.
