Bhupen Borah Slams Congress, Says Party Has ‘Lost Direction’ In Assam; Predicts BJP Surge

In an explosive NDTV exclusive, Bhupen Borah launches a scathing attack on the Congress in Assam, alleging internal sabotage, appeasement politics, and financial weakness ahead of the polls. Borah claims leaders like Gaurav Gogoi and Rakibul Hussain are focused on protecting their Lok Sabha seats rather than strengthening the party in the state. He further alleges that the Congress high command remained silent on critical issues, that the party lacks funds to fight elections, and that many ticket aspirants may switch sides. Borah also hints that if convinced about governance and national interest, he could align with the Bharatiya Janata Party, led in Assam by Himanta Biswa Sarma.
