The Southern View: Vijay Targets DMK In Vellore, Declares 2026 Showdown

At a rally in Vellore ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Vijay, chief of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), launched a sharp attack on the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), calling it his party’s sole rival and alleging corruption. Vijay dismissed other parties as insignificant in the 2026 battle and asserted that TVK would form the next government. The DMK hit back, with leaders accusing Vijay of indulging in political theatrics and projecting Chief Minister M K Stalin as his primary target for visibility.
