F15 Shot Down: Iran claimed Monday it shot down a F-15 fighter jet as the war with United States-backed Israel entered a third day, dragging the West Asia region and the world into a second major military conflict. There are, however, unconfirmed reports the incident may have involved ‘friendly fire’. Visuals shared online showed an F-15 – it was not immediately clear if it belonged to the US or Israel – spiralling down in slow motion, with flames from its rear. The plane was flying over Kuwait at the time. Multiple media reports said the two pilots ejected safely. Meawhile, Kuwait’s Defense Ministry confirmed ‘several US military aircraft had crashed. A ministry spokesperson said search-and-rescue operations had been launched in each instance and all crew had been safely recovered. There was no clarity, though, on why the aircraft had crashed.
