Iran claimed Monday it shot down a F-15 fighter jet as the war with United States-backed Israel entered a third day, dragging the West Asia region and the world into a second major military conflict. There are, however, unconfirmed reports the incident may have involved ‘friendly fire’. Visuals shared online showed an F-15 – it was not immediately clear if it belonged to the US or Israel – spiralling down in slow motion, with flames from its rear. The plane was flying over Kuwait at the time.
