Allen completed the joint-fastest fifty of the ongoing tournament off just 19 balls, as New Zealand flew to 84/0 in the first six overs, making it the highest powerplay score in T20 World Cup history. Tim Seifert slammed a 28-ball fifty, stitching a 117-run opening stand with Allen. Earlier, Marco Jansen smashed an unbeaten 55 off 30 balls to rescue South Africa to a fighting total of 169/8 in 20 overs. New Zealand had South Africa pinned at 77/5 at one stage, after captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and opted to bowl. The victory sees New Zealand enter the final, where they’ll face either India or England
