Iran War News | IRGC Signals Hormuz Disruption Amid War Escalation

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned that it could halt all oil exports from the Middle East if US and Israeli strikes continue, raising fears of a major global energy shock. The threat centres on the Strait of Hormuz, the world’s most critical oil shipping route, through which a large share of global crude supplies passes each day. US President Donald Trump has responded with a sharp warning of “much harder” retaliation if Iran attempts to block the vital energy corridor. Iranian officials, however, say the blockade could target vessels linked to the US, Israel and Europe, while allowing some other countries’ shipments to pass. The escalating standoff is already raising concerns about disrupted supply chains, stranded vessels, and surging oil prices, with analysts warning that any sustained blockade of the Strait of Hormuz could trigger severe consequences for the global economy.
