Chris Osborne on Iran’s Arsenal: Drones, Missiles & The Biggest Risks Ahead

As the war involving Iran, Israel, and the United States enters its second week, defence expert Kris Osborn, President and Editor-in-Chief of the Center for Military Modernization, joins NDTV to break down the evolving battlefield dynamics.

Osborn explains that heavy precision strikes may have significantly reduced Iran’s ballistic missile launches, but a major uncertainty remains: how many missiles, drones, and munitions Tehran still has stored in underground facilities.

He warns that the biggest threat going forward may come from drone swarms and small boat attacks, especially in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz. Iran has a history of using swarm tactics — overwhelming advanced defences with large numbers of low-cost drones and fast boats attacking from multiple directions.
