India’s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar has said that India’s diplomatic engagement with Iran is playing a key role in restoring shipping through the strategic Strait of Hormuz. In an interview with the Financial Times, Jaishankar said it is better to reason with Iran to find a solution to the ongoing maritime tensions. He added that there is no blanket arrangement with Iran, and that each ship movement through the strait is being handled individually.
