A thunderstorm and strong winds killed 16 people in Pakistan’s largest city, Karachi, a rescue worker said Wednesday evening. “Two women among 16 people have died,” said Edhi rescue worker Muhammad Ameen. “We were receiving calls of signboards and walls collapsing in different parts of Karachi,” he added. In Baldia Town’s Mawachh Goth area, rescuers have so far recovered the bodies of 13 people from the rubble of a collapsed building, as search operations are still underway for more victims believed to be trapped beneath the debris.
