Karnataka News | Karnataka Assembly Rocked By Alleged ₹6000 Crore Excise Scam

The Karnataka assembly witnessed dramatic scenes as BJP and JDS MLAs staged an overnight protest over allegations of a massive excise department scam. The opposition has accused the Congress government of a ₹6000 crore corruption racket and demanded the resignation of the state Excise Minister. BJP leaders allege that illegal collections were made from liquor vendors and officials, charges strongly denied by the government. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has rejected the allegations and ruled out any resignation, while the opposition is pressing for a special investigation. The political showdown has brought assembly proceedings to a standstill, intensifying the war of words between the ruling Congress and the BJP-JDS alliance.
