Farmers ‘100% Protected’ Under India–US Deal: Amit Shah

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has welcomed the India–US trade agreement, calling it a step towards making India “future ready.” However, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has alleged that the government has betrayed India’s farmers through the pact. Responding to the criticism, Union Home Minister Amit Shah asserted that Indian farmers are “100 percent protected” under the Free Trade Agreement and accused the Congress of misleading the public. The trade deal has now triggered a sharp political debate over its impact on agriculture and national interests.
