Congress Leader Compares Chhatrapati Shivaji, Tipu Sultan Triggers Political Storm In Maharashtra

Politics in Maharashtra has intensified following remarks by Maharashtra Congress President Harshwardhan Sapkal, who compared Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with Tipu Sultan and described Tipu as a great warrior and a true son of India. The statement triggered a major controversy, with a case reportedly filed against him in Pune. Leaders from the Shiv Sena strongly criticised the comment. MP Naresh Mhaske lashed out at the Congress over the comparison, while UBT Sena MP Sanjay Raut said there can be no comparison between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Tipu Sultan. The row has further sharpened political tensions in the state.
