‘My Complaints Were Never Addressed’: Bhupen Borah Tells NDTV

Former Assam Congress chief Bhupen Borah said he quit the party after three decades due to unresolved internal conflicts and disagreements with the central leadership over alliance decisions. Explaining his move to the BJP, Borah said Congress leaders urged him to withdraw his resignation but never addressed the concerns he raised in his letter. He added that his decision was also shaped by political realities in his home district, where he felt contesting from either Congress or BJP were the ‘only viable options.
