Uday Bhanu Chib Sent to 4-Day Police Custody; Lawyer Slams ‘North Korea-Type’ Action

Uday Bhanu Chib, National President of the Indian Youth Congress, has been sent to four days of police custody by a Delhi court in connection with the AI Summit protest case. Delhi Police had sought seven days. Outside court, Chib’s lawyer criticised the action, calling it a “North Korea-type reaction” and argued that protests are part of a healthy democracy.
