“Iran Still Has Military Capability”: Expert Pushes Back On Donald Trump

After Donald Trump claimed Iran’s military has been largely destroyed and the war is nearly over, Bernard Haykel of Princeton University suggested the US president may actually be looking for an exit from the conflict. Haykel said the spike in oil prices to around $120 per barrel has alarmed Washington due to its potential economic impact. However, he added that Iran still retains significant capabilities, including drones, missiles, and fast naval boats, meaning the conflict could continue as both sides engage in a tense strategic standoff.
