‘TMC Will Fight Assam Polls Solo, Aim to Fill Opposition Vacuum’: Sushmita Dev

At NDTV’s Assam The Great Brahmaputra Dialogue, Sushmita Dev said the All India Trinamool Congress will contest the upcoming Assam elections independently with no alliance with the Indian National Congress. She said the party is not aiming to form the government but to build a credible opposition space, arguing there is a growing demand for an alternative in the state. Dev also criticised Himanta Biswa Sarma’s politics for disturbing Assam’s social equilibrium and accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of using issues like infiltration for political polarisation.
