Iran Claims US Troops ‘Fled’, Bases ‘Eliminated’; Ground Reality Differs

US-Iran Latest News: Iran has made a dramatic claim, alleging that US troops have fled their bases in West Asia and that American military positions in the region have been “eliminated.” The statement comes amid a series of Iranian strikes targeting US-linked sites across the Gulf. However, ground reports and defence assessments suggest otherwise. The United States continues to maintain a significant military footprint in the region, with tens of thousands of troops deployed across multiple bases, alongside fresh reinforcements being sent in. While there have been confirmed losses, including aircraft and high-value drones, much of Iran’s claims remain unverified and are being viewed as strategic messaging rather than an accurate reflection of the battlefield. As attacks and counterclaims intensify, the conflict is increasingly playing out not just on the ground but also in the narrative war shaping global perception.
