Redmi Note 15 Pro review:Solid body with 200MP camera and IP69K rating; reverse charging with 6500mAh battery at ₹27,000

Redmi Note 15 Pro series has arrived in the market. Today we will talk about the Redmi Note 15 Pro and see if it justifies its price. This phone comes in the mid-range budget. The phone has come in two variants with 8GB RAM. It can be purchased for ₹29,999 with 128GB storage and ₹31,999 with 256GB storage. The company is also offering a cashback of ₹3000 on the phone. Redmi Note 15 Pro: Design and Build Quality First, let’s talk about its design; it is similar to last year’s Pro series, and the company hasn’t made many changes to it. It is made from polycarbonate material. The phone weighs around 210 grams and has a thickness of less than 8mm. It’s not very slim or light, but because of this, the company was able to provide a large battery. The phone’s structure is very solid, and the internal components are robustly built. On the front, it features a flat panel with Gorilla Glass 2 protection. During testing, the phone was dropped multiple times, yet it showed no issues. It has stereo speakers, which are quite loud, although the bass might feel a bit lacking. The in-display fingerprint sensor is very fast, an IR sensor is also provided, and the best part is that it comes with excellent ratings up to IP66, 68, 69, and 69K. However, its haptics could have been a bit better. Redmi Note 15 Pro: Specifications Display: The phone’s second biggest positive point is its display. It features a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel, which comes with a 120Hz refresh rate. The bezels are very thin, and the display quality is excellent. Its peak brightness goes up to 3200 nits, making the screen clearly visible even in sunlight. It also supports Dolby Vision and HDR 10, which makes the content viewing experience enjoyable. Performance and Software: For performance, it features the Dimensity 7400 chipset, which is common in this budget nowadays. However, the storage type is UFS 2.2; if it were 3.1, it would be even smoother. There is no lag in the phone, but animations feel a bit slow when returning to the home screen after using heavy apps or gaming. It runs on Android 15, though Android 16 would have been better. The company has promised 4 years of OS and 6 years of security updates. There is no heating issue during gaming, but don’t expect gaming at very high settings. Camera: Talking about the camera setup, its back panel features Samsung’s 200MP third-generation sensor. After testing in daylight and low-light, it felt like the hardware is good, but the software needs improvement. Photos seem to lack a bit of detail and vibrancy. Portrait mode has a 2x option which is good, but in low-light, the photos are not as good and noise (blurriness) is visible. The front has a 20MP camera which is fine in good lighting, but in low light, the skin tone becomes dull. As for video, 4K 30fps recording can be done from the rear and 1080p 30fps from the front. An 8MP ultra-wide lens is also available. Battery and Charging: The battery is the strongest point of this phone. It has a massive 6500mAh battery, which can easily last for two days. It gets 45W support for charging, which takes about an hour and a half to fully charge. It also supports 22.5W reverse wired charging, meaning you can charge other phones with it. Final Verdict: With offers, the phone’s base variant could be available for around 27,000 rupees and the top model for 29,000 rupees. If you want an excellent display, robust build quality, and a long-lasting battery, then this phone is good for you. Performance is a bit average, but for the camera, it would be better to wait for a software update.
